Help conserve Babbidge Woods Today!

FLT is pursuing the purchase of one of the largest remaining forested wetland complexes in the Highland Lake area, and we need your help to make it happen. FLT has until March 31st to raise the remaining $55,000 needed to complete the sale. Protecting this 42-acre parcel, known as Babbidge Woods, will provide opportunities for recreation and protect the water quality of Highland Lake, which flows into the Presumpscot River and on to Casco Bay. This property provides vital habitat to 60 bird species and to mammals, amphibians, and turtles; it's ranked as one of the "top 25% highest value areas in the watershed" by a regional conservation initiative. FLT is seeking a Seasonal Land Steward to join our team from May-October 2026. Do you like being outside? Are you interested in learning more about land conservation and trail stewardship? Then this might be the job for you! Duties for this 40 hour per week position include preserve and trail maintenance, active land management and volunteer engagement.
