Falmouth Corners Preserve


Falmouth Corners Preserve (2007, Owned by FLT, 65.6 acres) Ridgewood Estates is the preserved portion of a development. A major component of the central Falmouth conservation area, it contains a trail network.  Ample public parking available and well marked trail.

Location/Parking:  Enter Ridgewood Estates from Falmouth Road and continue to the trailhead. Park at the trailhead.

Description:  This 70-acre property is located on the north side of Falmouth Road between Route 9 and Allen Avenue Extension in the Ridgewood Estates development. The trails at Falmouth Corners cover over a mile of varied terrain including streams and some steep ravines. Each trail is of varying distance and difficulty but they have all been well maintained and cleared. 

Natural Features:  A secondary growth forest of pine, hemlock and maple shields a thick understory of smaller maple, elm and ferns. The wetlands, small brooks and ravines are home to associated plants and small animals.  There are a number of vernal pools in this area so please be aware of the breeding activity during early spring season. 

History:  This property was acquired by the Falmouth Land Trust in 19xx.

Allowable Uses:  Hiking, mountain biking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and nature study are all allowed. Motorized vehicles are prohibited. The area is not handicapped accessible.
