July Volunteer Trail Training Day

FLT is hosting public volunteer trail trainings every month from April through October. Volunteers will meet with FLT staff to learn how to do everything from building bridges and cutting back branches to removing invasive species. No experience necessary!

This month we will be making improvements to the entrance of Blackstrap Hill Preserve (373 Blackstrap Rd, Falmouth) to help decrease invasive plants in the area. We will be restoring the natural habitat of the area by pulling out the invasive species and ensuring enough space is given to the native flora for them to thrive.

We will meet in the parking lot of the trailhead at 1:00pm and go over tools and processes before heading down the trail as a group. This event will involve standing, digging, and kneeling on uneven terrain. Volunteers are encouraged to wear solid footwear and long pants, and bring water, insect repellant, and additional anti-tick measures.

If you have any questions, please reach out to our Environmental Steward Sarah Payne at flt_seasonal@falmouthlandtrust.org. Click the link below to sign up, or call 207-200-5488 for more information.

Other upcoming volunteer training dates: August 11th, September 8th, October 13th

Time and location for each day to be determined based on weather and project priorities.
