Maple Presentation with Minquansis Sapiel @ Falmouth Memorial Library

Join Passamaquoddy cultural educator and author Minquansis Sapiel for a presentation about the importance of the maple tree to Wabanaki culture at Falmouth Memorial Library on Saturday, March 14th at 11am.  Minquansis will share more about maple trees in Wabanaki creation stories and discuss her new book called Gluskabe and the Gift of the Maple Trees.  This presentation will take place in the library's Russell Room past the main circulation desk.

Minquansis Sapiel is a published author, storyteller, speaker, and cultural guide from Sipayik, one of the two Passamaquoddy communities in Maine. A member of the Wabanaki Confederacy, she leads guided tours in different parts of the state, offering deep insight into Wabanaki history, land, and culture. Her children’s book Little People of the Dawn introduces younger generations to Wabanaki stories, and she has a new book about maple trees coming out soon.

This event is sponsored by the Falmouth Land Trust and Falmouth Memorial Library. More information about registration coming soon!
