General Information: North Falmouth Community Forest connects to Blackstrap Hill Community Forest and Preserve and Presumpscot Regional Land Trust’s Lowell Preserve.

History: Most of the area was pasture at one time, as evidenced by some remaining stonewalls and several very large pasture trees. When the pastures grew back to trees, they were used as woodlots by farmers and other area residents until the advent of central heating.

Habitat: NFCF is entirely wooded with a mix of hardwood and softwood species. It is also home to a variety of species of wildlife, including whitetail deer, turkeys, fishers, snowshoe hares, porcupines, bobcats, a wide variety of songbirds, and an occasional moose and black bear. Several vernal pools are also located on the property.
