General Information
This FLT property hosts a section of a well loved community trail along the Presumpscot River. Portland Trails and FLT work together to manage this beautiful stretch of land. Portland Trails maintains this section of trail, and FLT protects the conservation value of the land it crosses.
PRP is divided into two parcels, a northern parcel that abuts the river and borders Portland town line and Presumpscot River Preserve (accessible via Overset Rd in Portland) and a southern parcel that is accessible via Aster Lane and surrounded by homes. The CMP powerline corridor abuts the southern parcel. There are trails that have been previously established by neighbors and members of the now dissolved Presumpscot River Place HOA.
Public Access: The southern Aster Lane parcel has limited access, granted to the neighbors of the property. The Northern River parcel hosts a trail that has been long established, and which Portland Trails has laid claim to, though there is no evidence of an agreement between Portland Trails and the Falmouth Land Trust. Efforts are being made to research the status of any agreement between Portland Trails and the Falmouth Land Trust. Additionally, there is specifically no access from Falmouth to the Northern parcel. It is prohibited by a 4/25/2011 amendment to the conservation easement.
